Using a substitute ribbon contain all the manufacturers specifications and therefore reduce the life of the product. 

The specifications for our ribbons are: 

1.) 12.6mm high ribbon
2.) 12 meters long 
3.) Cartridge for easy installation 
4.) Special lubricants to maintain correct printhead function 
5.) Special ribbon fabric to maintain printhead function and prevent ribbon jams 
6.) 6 million character expected ribbon life (environment dependent)
